Foundation for Ecological Security
Scope • Stabilised Rammed Earth Walls and Wooden Roof
The initial stage of FES involved the utilization of natural materials such as Rammed earth, Thatch, and Wood, with the Hunnarshala Foundation leading the design and implementation. They successfully transformed a factory shed into an office building. In the subsequent phase, FES expanded its facilities by incorporating a canteen and a meeting space, which were designed by Aayaam Architects.
During this second phase, the construction of in-situ stabilized rammed structures was undertaken by the artisan team under the guidance of the Sankalan Team. Moreover, the artisans took on the responsibility of preparing and installing floor boards for intermediate floor and the understructure for the sloping roof.
