Lab Testing and Soil Mix Design for Earthen Construction

Laboratory testing is conducted to understand soil properties for mix design in earthen construction projects. The process starts with site visits and soil procurement from nearby areas. Physical analysis of the soil samples is then carried out, followed by the preparation of soil mix design sample cubes for testing compressive strength, water absorption, performance, and other parameters.

Based on the test results, the design mix is finalized, which is used for constructing various earthen structures , such as Rammed Earth, CSEB, Adobe, and others.
